A Prayer Revolution

3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. [Revelation 8:3-7]

And there it hit me!  BOOM! The power of prayer.  Did you catch it?  Read the scripture again.
I'll wait...Did you see it now?  Verse 3 "...that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne."  Verse 4 "...which came with the prayers of the saints..."
Verses 5-7 a great action by the angels was PRECEDED by the previous action of prayer by the saints.

Which saints? When?  Not listed is it? So, from whom and when is irrelevant. All the saints, at ALL times!

Reading these few passages led me to a deeper study of incense and the most holy place in the old testament, but I really focused on the significance of prayer to God and the relevance of prayer to the believer.  To know every prayer prayed by the saints would be the catalyst for the actions of the angels in the end times was overwhelming.  No prayer is insignificant, but I realized prayer should be more focused as well.  It is powerful!

In your quiet time, study these scriptures on prayer.  There are MANY more, but you can begin with these:

Deut. 4:7
Psalm 141:2
Proverbs 15:8
Proverbs 15:29
Matthew 21:13
Mark 9:29
Colossians 4:2
James 5:13-17
I Peter 3:12

Aaron was commanded in the old testament (Exodus 30) to make a FRAGRANT incense that was for the Lord only. But, in the new testament our prayers have become that fragrant incense pleasing to the Lord. [Rev. 5:8]

There's so much more to the power and beauty of the prayers of God's people.  So, this is my call to action!  In light of all the  unspeakable wickedness that is seemingly prevailing in our world. Let us have a call to action of...wait for it...PRAYER.  A Power of Prayer Revolution..."P.O.P" if you will.  Let us, the saints, recognize our power in calling the angels to action. Let us see society, communities, governments, homes, marriages, individuals changed this year by the power of our prayers.  Let us see our world POP by the prayer of the saints!

Better yet, let us pray to see wickedness thwarted by the power of our prayers!

So, I have outlined concentrated prayer time for those who choose to participate in seeing lives, homes, and communities changed by the power of prayer. Pray in this way each week.  Pray as the Holy Spirit moves you, but pray!

Sunday- Pray for your immediate family
Monday - Pray for your country
Tuesday - Pray for your state
Wednesday - Pray for your city (not outlining cities, the city where you reside)
Thursday - Pray for our schools (public/private, elementary, secondary, college)
Friday - Pray as the Holy Spirit leads you, in whatever area
Saturday - Pray for yourself

Remember to have focused prayer.  The Holy Spirit will guide you on what needs to be prayed for.  Listen to His leading. Won't you join me?

Expect change. We are the change agents God has placed in such a time as this!
